Synthetic Wig Care Instructions
Taking proper care of your synthetic wig ensures it remains looking beautiful and maintains its longevity. Follow these care instructions to keep your wig in top condition:
1. Daily Care:
Gently comb or brush your wig with a wide-toothed comb or a wig brush to remove tangles and knots. Start from the tips and work your way up to the base.
Avoid using regular brushes or combs, as they can damage the synthetic fibers.
2. Washing:
Fill a basin or sink with cool to lukewarm water. Avoid hot water, as it can damage synthetic fibers.
Add a small amount of specially formulated synthetic wig shampoo to the water and mix until it creates a soapy solution.
Gently immerse the wig in the water, making sure it's fully submerged. Swirl it around for a few minutes, allowing the soapy water to cleanse the wig.
Rinse the wig thoroughly with cool water until all the shampoo is washed out.
3. Conditioning:
Apply a small amount of synthetic wig conditioner to your wig, avoiding the roots or cap area.
Gently distribute the conditioner through the lengths and ends of the hair using your fingers.
Allow the conditioner to sit for a few minutes to soften the fibers.
4. Rinse and Dry:
Rinse the wig thoroughly with cool water until all the conditioner is washed out.
Gently blot the wig with a clean, soft towel to remove excess water. Avoid wringing or twisting the wig.
Place the wig on a wig stand or a clean, dry towel to air dry. Do not use a hairdryer, as heat can damage synthetic fibers.
5. Styling:Style your wig only when it's completely dry. Use a low-heat setting on styling tools if necessary.
Avoid using hot rollers, curling irons, or straighteners on synthetic wigs, as they can melt or singe the fibers unless your wig states it is heat tolerant, then we recommend not using heat above 150 degrees.
6. Storage:
When not in use, store your wig on a wig stand or in a breathable, clean bag or box away from direct sunlight and heat sources.
To maintain the wig's shape, do not stack heavy objects on top of it.
7. Avoid Friction:
Be cautious when wearing your wig around scarves, collars, and rough textures, as friction can cause frizz and damage.
8. Avoid Exposure:
Keep your wig away from extreme temperatures, such as excessive heat or cold, as these can adversely affect the synthetic fibers.
9. Professional Maintenance:
If your wig requires extensive styling or repairs, consider consulting a professional wig stylist for maintenance.
Regularly following these care instructions will help ensure your synthetic wig looks its best and lasts longer.
